peicom at the EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr In-Store Trade Show 2026

Retail security and communication rarely take shape at a desk. They emerge where employees, customers, and technology actually come together in everyday life—for example, at an in-house trade show.
The EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr 2026 in-store trade show took place in Essen from May 31 to June 1, 2026. After many years as a reliable solution provider, peicom was represented for the first time with its own booth—right in the thick of things rather than just as a solution provider in the background.

Why In-House Trade Shows Are So Valuable for Retail Security and Communication

Major trade shows often focus on trends and visions for the future. An in-house event like EDEKA’s takes a different approach. Here, the focus is on the people who work in the store every day and the issues that truly matter to them.
That’s exactly what makes such events so relevant to peicom. Instead of merely presenting solutions, direct conversations emerge about where retail security and communication actually reach their limits in everyday life. Which signals get lost, where is transparency lacking, and where does a missing interface ultimately cost real time?

What peicom Showcased at the Booth

At our booth, we showcased several components that work together in everyday retail operations:
Our peiECO solution demonstrated how communication, sensor technology, and machine signals can be integrated into a single system without creating new siloed solutions. In addition, we showcased modern video solutions that demonstrated how in-store security today can do more than just provide surveillance. We also featured efficient communication solutions that integrate seamlessly into everyday retail operations.
These are three areas that are helpful on their own but only truly demonstrate their full potential when combined. This was precisely the topic of conversation that came up time and again at the booth: How can existing systems be connected instead of constantly building new ones alongside them?

Two days with real-world relevance

Together with other EDEKA participants, numerous discussions took place over the two days of the trade show that went far beyond mere product presentations. The conversations focused on specific situations in the retail environment, experiences from day-to-day operations, and the question of which solutions truly work in everyday practice.

Another highlight of the event was a visit from Joachim Llambi. The “Let’s Dance” judge, known for his trained eye and clear stance, was also in attendance at the trade show. Although there was no official scoring, our booth would certainly have done well in the “Standard” category.

What this experience means for future development

For us at peicom, in-store events like these are more than just a one-off event. They serve as a direct link between product development and day-to-day retail operations. Every discussion about retail security and communication feeds into the further development of existing solutions like peiECO and reveals the actual needs emerging in the market.
